What's included in the Free plan?
The Free plan covers one vehicle with DVLA data, MOT and tax status, MOT history, MOT/tax/insurance reminders, recall alerts, and manual insurance tracking. It's free forever — no credit card required.
Is there a free trial of Pro?
Yes — every new user can start a 14-day free trial of CarFile Pro. No credit card required. When the trial ends you continue on the Free plan unless you choose to upgrade.
Can I cancel my Pro subscription anytime?
Yes. You can cancel CarFile Pro at any time. There are no long-term contracts or cancellation fees, and your Pro access continues until the end of your current billing period.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept all major credit and debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express) through our secure payment processor, Stripe. All payments are processed securely with bank-level encryption.
Do you offer a discount for annual billing?
Yes — annual billing saves about 17% compared to monthly. Pro is £15 per month or £149 per year, and Premium is £25 per month or £249 per year.
What's the difference between Pro and Premium?
Pro covers up to 5 vehicles with service & repair history, fuel and expense tracking, cost-per-mile insights and email support — £15/month or £149/year. Premium adds support for up to 15 vehicles and priority email support (24-hour response), at £25/month or £249/year. Family sharing is in development and will be included with Premium.
Are the prices inclusive of tax?
All prices are in GBP. CarFile Ltd is not currently VAT registered, so no VAT is charged.
What happens to my data if I cancel Pro?
All your data is preserved when you move from Pro to Free — your vehicles, history and records stay in your account. You'll lose access to Pro-only features (service & repair history, fuel and expense tracking, cost-per-mile insights) until you upgrade again.
